Livingston Manor and Roscoe CSD residents are invited to a March 1 meeting about the proposed merger between the two districts. The meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m. in the LMCS Auditorium, will kick off the merger study process and introduce the members of the joint Advisory Committee. The meeting can also be attended via a Zoom webinar in which participants will be able to post questions in a live chat.

The 18-member Advisory Committee will meet monthly with the merger consultants during the spring to help inform the study. Meeting locations will alternate between the two districts. The committee is balanced to include equal numbers of community members, students and district employees from each district. Members are as follows:

From Livingston Manor:

  • Student: Jillian Carlsen.
  • Community members: Nancy Barnhart, Danielle Decker-Stone, Allen O’Keefe and Nicole Park.
  • District employees: Robert Gould (support staff), Jessica Mall and Laure Valentine (teachers), Lauren Marrero (administrator).

From Roscoe:

  • Student: Jacqueline Lambe.
  • Community members: Justin Murphy, Lilly Constant, George Kinne and Laurie Kuehn.
  • District employees: Brandie Rogers (support staff), Melissa Ebeling and Donna Greenthal (teachers), Robin Francisco (administrator).

The study is a required first step any time districts are considering a merger. It is expected that the Manor-Roscoe study will be completed this summer, and shared with the Boards of Education and the community this fall, to determine if a merger proposal should be put to a public vote.

Details about the process will be shared at Tuesday’s meeting, which will include a presentation by a representative of the state Education Department. All are invited to attend in person or virtually. More information is at https://www.roscoe.k12.ny.us/page/merger-study and https://www.lmcs.k12.ny.us/domain/1136
