On a yellow to brown gradiant reads Rockland Central School District news

We are excited to share a major milestone in the brand development process for the Rockland Central School District: the selection of our school mascot and colors.

From the beginning, this process has been rooted in community voice and student leadership. We began by inviting input from families, staff, students and community members on the attributes they would most like to see the new mascot represent. Responses included characteristics like “strength,” “pride,” and “resilience.”

Next, we collected ideas for mascot concepts and color combinations. Our Rockland Branding Work Group, made up of staff, student, family and community representatives, reviewed hundreds of suggestions and narrowed them down to two final options for each category. On Tuesday, June 10, students were presented with the final mascot and color options and cast their votes for the combinations they felt best represented our new, unified school district.

Based on the student vote, and with the full support of the Board of Education, we are proud to announce that the Rockland Central School District mascot will be the Wolves, and the official school colors will be purple and black.

As we move forward as the Rockland Wolves, we stand united as one school district, proud of the many voices and perspectives that came together to create this shared identity.

Thank you to everyone who contributed your ideas, votes, and time throughout this process. We can’t wait to see our new identity come to life across our school, teams, and community.

Go, Wolves!
