Dear Rockland CSD Community,

Thank you for your participation in our recent ThoughtExchange! Many of you shared inspiring words like strength, courage, pride, unity, wisdom, resilience, and integrity—qualities the Branding Work Group fully supports as we begin designing the new Rockland mascot.

We’re now inviting your input on two exciting elements of our identity: school colors and the mascot.

School Colors:

Please share your ideas with specific detail—rather than “blue” or “green,” consider shades like deep navy, forest green, charcoal gray, or metallic gold. Try to suggest color combinations that complement each other well. (For example: navy blue and metallic silver, or forest green and slate gray)

Submit your ideas for school colors by June 5 here: https://tejoin.com/scroll/796999815

Mascot:

We also want your ideas for a mascot. While all ideas are welcome, consider animals native to the Catskill region—like bobcats, ravens, rattlesnakes, eagles, or foxes—for symbolic and regional relevance.

What’s Next?

The Branding Work Group will review submissions and finalize a list of top choices for students to vote on Tuesday, June 10. The final decision will be announced at the Board of Education meeting later that evening.

Thank you for helping us establish a vibrant and unified identity for Rockland CSD.

Sincerely,

John Evans, Superintendent

Rockland Central School District
