The members of the Rockland Central School District Advisory Committee have been chosen and will meet for the first time at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in Livingston Manor.
The committee will meet monthly and will be a guiding voice in the transition process, offering insight and perspectives on key planning topics and helping to ensure that the new district reflects the values, strengths and aspirations of both communities.
The committee includes equal representation from Livingston Manor and Roscoe and includes students, faculty, staff, family members and community members.
Serving on the committee will be faculty members Rene Carlson and Fiona Streimer from Livingston Manor and Cindy Hyzer and Katie Ahart from Roscoe; staff members Rosa Finkle and Rob Gould from Manor and Abby DeFreitas and Nicole Rasnick from Roscoe; parent representatives Ashley Hoag-Irwin and Tegan Edwards from Manor and Christina Antizzo and Kendra Harris Constant from Roscoe; community representatives Diana Fredenburg and Dan Smith from Manor and Ed Park and Elwin Wood from Roscoe and student representatives Clara LeRoy from Manor and Brooke Coman from Roscoe. Also on the committee will be members of the district administration: Adam Larson, Julie Buck, Lauren Marrero, Christopher Hubert, Robin Francisco, Rebecca Ackerly and John Evans.
There will be additional opportunities for involvement and those who were not selected to participate on the committee will have numerous opportunities to join one or more of the focused work groups that will be created.
A building tour of Livingston Manor will be available at 5:15 p.m. before the first meeting for anyone interested. The meetings are open to the public.
A second meeting will be held in early June in Roscoe, with future meetings to be determined by members of the committee.
The district will also host a Community Planning Day focusing on continuing the strategic plan process and defining a common mission, vision and core values, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, in the Livingston Manor auditorium. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP at
