On a yellow to brown gradiant reads Rockland Central School District news

As Rockland Central School District moves forward with the creation of the new Rockland Central School District—formed through the merger of Livingston Manor and Roscoe—the district is continuing to seek community input in helping the district be stronger together.

There are two upcoming opportunities for the community to be involved.

  • The first is the formation of the Rockland Central School Advisory Committee. This committee will be a guiding voice in the transition process, offering insight and perspectives on key planning topics and helping to ensure that the new district reflects the values, strengths and aspirations of both communities. The committee will include about 20 members with equal representation from Livingston Manor and Roscoe and will include students, faculty, staff, family members and community members. It will meet through May 2026. The monthly meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with the first meeting May 14 in Manor and the next June 11 in Roscoe. Future meetings will be determined by the committee. Those interested in being a member of the committee, are asked to apply by noon Monday, May 12 at https://tinyurl.com/RocklandCSDcommitteeinterest.

  • The second opportunity will be a Community Planning Day focusing on continuing the strategic plan process and defining a common mission, vision and core values. The meeting will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 19 in the Livingston Manor auditorium. This will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders—including community members, students, staff, Board of Education representatives and the Leadership Team—to collaboratively generate bold and innovative ideas aligned with the district’s priorities. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/RocklandplanningRSVP. This process will set the foundation for the path forward and ensure the district begins this new chapter with unity, purpose and clarity.

“Thank you for considering these opportunities to help shape the future of Rockland Central School District,” Superintendent John Evans said. “Together, we will build a strong and unified future for Rockland Central School District.”
