Anticipated Vacancy

POSITION: RISE Intervention Specialist/Counselor

AVAILABLE: Aug. 31, 2022, through Sept. 30, 2024 (remainder of grant)

QUALIFICATIONS: Master of School Counseling, Master of Social Work or related field Master’s degree required, higher certification/degree preferred; Candidate will have appropriate licenses and certifications; Experience utilizing PBIS model preferred.

DUTIES: Intervention Specialist to work with the Rapid Response Team of mental health professionals dispatched to partner schools as needed. Specialists will draw from multiple years of youth/family counseling experience in school setting or high needs public mental health agency. Provide individual/group counseling for K – 12 using validated therapeutic counseling models. Provide instruction in social and emotional learning curriculum for K – 6. Serve on school-wide Behavior Support Teams to implement PBIS protocols. Educate parents to identify/mitigate risky behaviors. Implement substance abuse prevention programs. Respond to needs of students, staff and families during incidents of school violence, crime, accidents, terrorist activities and traumatic events. Specialists will help teachers improve classroom management, learning environments and PBIS plans.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
