NOTICE OF THE ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT MEETING OF VOTERS OF THE ROSCOE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE ROSCOE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that pursuant to a Resolution adopted by the Board of Education of the District on the 31 day of May, 2023, a special meeting of the qualified voters of said School District, will be held at the Roscoe Central School District, 6 Academy Street, Roscoe, New York, on June 20, 2023, between the hours of Noon and 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of voting upon the following proposition:

PROPOSITION I

Shall the Board of Education of the Roscoe Central School District expend the sum of $10,288,047 for the proposed budget for 2023-2024 and to levy the necessary tax therefore?

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the aforesaid proposition will appear on the ballot labels of the voting machines used at such Annual District meeting in the following abbreviated form:

ABBREVIATED FORM OF PROPOSITIONS

PROPOSITION I

Shall the Board of Education of the Roscoe Central School District expend the sum of $10,288,047 for the 2023-2024 and to levy the necessary tax therefore?

The public hearing for all qualified School District voters of the proposed estimated expenditures for the fiscal year 2023-2024 to be held on June 7, 2023 at 7 PM., at the Roscoe Central School District, 6 Academy Street, Roscoe, New York; and; The District Clerk be authorized to prepare the statutory Notice of Special Meeting, Public Budget Hearing and Budget Vote, and attend to publication of the same in the Sullivan County Democrat, circulated within the School District, for at least two (2) times during the two (2) weeks preceding the date of said vote.

A copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes, inclusive of public moneys, and including a copy of the latest tax exemption impact report, may be obtained by any taxpayer in the District during the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the Special Meeting, except Saturday, Sunday, or holidays, on the District’s website at www.roscoe.k12.ny.us, at the office of the Board of Education, 6 Academy Street, Roscoe, New York, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at each of the school houses maintained by said School District, on any legal school days falling within the aforesaid fourteen (14) day period during school hours, and also at each public library within the District during normal operating hours within the aforesaid fourteen (14) day period.

Qualified voters of the District may obtain applications for an absentee ballot from the office of the Clerk of the District. Completed applications must be received by the Clerk of the District no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 13, 2023 if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter or the day before the election, June 19, 2023, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. All absentee ballots must be returned to the School District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on June 20, 2023, to be counted.

A listing of all persons to whom an absentee ballot is issued will be available for inspection by any qualified voter in the office of the Clerk of the District between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. through June 20, 2023, except on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the Propositions to be voted upon by the qualified voters of the School District, on June 20, 2023, from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m. at Roscoe Central School District, 6 Academy Street, Roscoe, New York, is as follows:

To Vote upon the appropriations budget in the amount of $10,288,047 for the 2023-2024 school year and to levy the necessary tax therefore.
