Tri-Valley Central School District is hosting an “Active Parenting Series," presented by Action Toward Independence, which is open to Roscoe Central School families as well. The next workshop , titled “Cooperation and Communication,” will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8.
In the workshop, parents will learn about problems in developing character and teaching problem-solving skills. They will learn to recognize the three channels of communication and use them to strengthen their communication, and learn to avoid using communication blocks.
Parents may bring their children, and child care and activities will be provided.

Other planned workshops in the “Active Parenting Series” are Responsibility & Discipline on Dec. 6; Building Courage & Self-Esteem on Jan. 10; Understanding & Redirecting Misbehavior on Feb. 7; and Active Parenting for School Success READ Across America on March 8. If any session is canceled because of weather, the session will be rescheduled for April 27.
